Jsin Diablo
In the 80's Jsin started listening to music that was not on the radio and going to shows in Miami Beach. Back then he was audio taping and taking still shot photographs of the bands he saw like ... Metal Church, Megadeath, Overkill, Slayer, Testament, Laaz Rocket, Kreator, Destruction, Death, King Diamond, Death Angel, etc. He also helped his friend, Dan Rattlehead, with a pirate radio station operating from his bedroom that interviewed bands like Nasty Savage, El Duce from the Mentors, Gardy Loo, Raped Ape, FOS and many more. A few of Jsin's pictures ended up in Rock Fanzine's in Florida. Some of his live audio recordings were played on Rattlehead's pirate radio station.
Jsin visited San Francisco in 1991 and became familiar with the local scene seeing bands such as Puzzle Fish, Fungo Mungo, Mr Bungle, Mofeshionals, M.I.R.V., Mordred, Missing Link and a couple others he wish he could have seen like Limbo Maniacs and Phsycafunkapuss. Visiting the San Francisco Bay Area was enough to make him want to move out here eventually and make it his permanent home.
Jsin traveled to Boston for a brief period of time between 1992-1993 and soaked up the music scene there seeing and taping local bands such as Chucklehead, Mighty Mighty Bostones, Chuck, Bim Skala Bim as well as headlining national acts such as My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult and Lalapalooza II and White Zombie.
Fast forward to 1994 when Jsin finally made the moved to San Francisco and started to video tape the local scene every chance he got including Skin Lab, 40 Grit, Doom Finger, Swarm, Storm Inc., Sparrows Point, Blue Period, Alphabet Soup, M.I.R.V, Kehoe Nation and many national acts such as Fishbone, My Life with the Thrill Kill Kult, Metal Church, 311, Testament, Hirax, George Clinton, Devo, Ziggy Marley, The Bangles, Los Lobos, Blues Traveler and too many more to name. Jsin also started filming other things outside of music like spoken word poetry, fire dancers, fashion shows, book readings, belly dancers, break dancers, comedy skits, celebrity interviews, surfers, various festivals and gatherings and side show circus acts; in general, he liked to film the best entertainment in the Bay Area and Beyond. Jsin has also been filmed performing on-stage with bands such as PigFace, X-Rated Porno Machine, Whip Kraft, Zebrahead, The People, Simon Stinger and The Womentors.
The name Jsin Diablo is a stage name that he uses when interviewing or hosting the show Late Nite Sinners. Jsin comes from a play on words to go along with the name of the show Late Nite Sinners, Diablo comes from living in the Diablo Valley within the San Francisco Bay Area.
Over the years, his tastes in music has evolved and not only does he still enjoy heavy metal and rock but he also enjoy funk, jazz, hip hop, reggae, ska, techno, industrial, house, swing, new wave and a fusion of styles.
Kristina Wolf
Music has always been a major part of Kristina's life. She was fortunate enough to have a father that appreciated music and played in a couple garage bands in his youth. He started off with the guitar and eventually moved to bass. When Kristina was a teenager, he bought her first and currently only guitar ... an American-made gun metal blue Fender Stratocaster with a maple neck and a 2-12 inch speaker Peavey amplifier from Gordan's Music and Sound in Fairfield, California. She may not play anymore, but she does cherish that guitar.
Her father's tastes in music pretty much stayed in the rock and roll category (She had her share of Led Zeppelin, Stephen Wolf, Cream, Jethro Tull, etc. crammed into her head) but he never discouraged her from finding her own style. Although heavy metal is still her favorite style (Overkill remains her favorite band), it is safe to say that she enjoys and appreciates ALL styles of music.
As an Army brat Kristina lived in countless different places and moved often. She moved to the Bay Area in the 80's and really does not see herself leaving anytime soon. Even though she was under aged, she was fortunate enough to experience the hay days of the Stone and the Omni. Many of her friends had older siblings who played those venues often and they were able to get access to many shows. By the time she reached her 20's, most of her friends were either in bands or working for various local bands.
She feels that a lot has changed in the Bay Area but one simple facts still remains ... there are some great bands here, some very talented musicians and she wants to see them all.
